The Edo State Commissioner for Women's Affairs and Social Development, Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq., in partnership with the Edo State Government, is pleased to announce the celebration of Children's Day on May 27, 2025.
The Children's Week 2025 edition is scheduled for May 21st to 27th, 2025, with various activities for the celebration. Children's Week is an annual event to celebrate children's growth and show love to all children in the world. This is also a joyous occasion dedicated to promoting the welfare, rights, and well-being of children, ultimately ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
The theme for this year's celebration is "Stand-Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation." This timely theme highlights the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment where children can thrive, free from bullying.
The Honourable Commissioner, Chief Olabisi Idaomi, speaking on this, said, "Through this initiative, the Edo government aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of bullying on children's well-being and empower children with the confidence to stand up against bullying and speak up for their rights."
" The Edo Ministry of Women's Affairs, with the support of the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, aims to foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and inclusivity in schools and communities by providing a platform for stakeholders to collaborate and develop strategies for building a bullying-free society."
Furthermore, Idaomi assures the public of the Edo State Government's commitment, saying, "By celebrating Children's Week with this meaningful theme, the Edo State Government reaffirms its commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of children, ensuring they grow into capable, confident, and compassionate individuals."
