People of Ohovbe Village in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State have come together to beg the Palace of the Benin Monarch to forgive their suspended Enogie, Iduriase Adun Oyenese.
The gathering, which included elders, youths, and other members of the community, was held to show their support for the Enogie and ask the Benin Traditional Council to lift his suspension.
Some of the community leaders who spoke during the appeal were Pa Joseph Edugie, Mrs. Florence Osabenkwe, Eghe Imariagbe, and Francis Iyayota.
“We are begging the Palace to forgive our Enogie,” said Pa Joseph Edugie.
Francis Iyayota also said, “The elders and youths of Ohovbe are appealing to the Benin Monarch to forgive our Enogie.”
The people of Ohovbe say they respect the Benin tradition and are hopeful that their request will be granted.
