FEDPOLY expels students, bans ex Union leaders from intruding

The authorities of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State today expelled twenty-seven (27) of its students for offences ranging from disturbance of academic activities, causing unrest and vandalisation of individuals and institution’s properties.






The institution’s Protocol, Media and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sola Lawal who made this known in a statement in Osogbo, said those expelled were students of HND 1 and HND 2 of the Polytechnic.



He added that eight HND 2 students were also suspended by the polytechnic management for two academic sessions while former students union leadership were banned from entering the two campuses of the institution with immediate effect.


The school spokesperson stated that, “You would recall that the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State constituted an investigation committee to unravel the miseries surrounding the Student’s crisis/rampage of Thursday, May 9th, 2024 leading to the stoning of people at the senior staff club”.



“The unprovoked attitude led to the vandalization of individual and institution’s properties. This unwarranted action negates the motto of the great citadel which is “KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND CHARACTER which the institution is known for, he explained.


In a brief interview with a student leader of the school via phone call, he described the total situation as unfortunate and pleaded to the rest of the students to making sure they face what they come to school for, in other words, he pleaded to the school management to tamper judgement with mercy and use this as a warning to the expelled students by reinstate them.
