Oghenetejiri Ovwigho-Ugbede, a graduate of Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Benin, stands as a shining example of commitment within the Nigerian Red Cross Society. He serves as the Branch Communication Officer for the Edo state branch, and his unwavering dedication and commitment to humanitarian work have been evident since his days as an undergraduate. He has been at the forefront of responding to various emergency situations, including the recent Bayelsa flooding and the nationwide response to the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting his profound passion for assisting those in need.
What sets Oghenetejiri apart is his remarkable experience and accolades in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Recognized by the World Safety Organization through multiple awards, he has emerged as a distinguished OHS instructor, exemplifying his profound knowledge in safeguarding individuals in high-risk situations.
The NDRT, currently undergoing intensive training, will play a pivotal role in responding to emergency situations across Nigeria, commencing with the critical task of addressing the ongoing diphtheria outbreak. In this challenging mission, Oghenetejiri Ovwigho-Ugbede stands as a symbol of hope and inspiration.
