Right Activist Challenge Federal Government on Borrowing to Fund Palliatives to 15 Million Nigerians

A right activist, Doctor Patrick Eholor has challenge the federal government of Nigeria over it decision to borrow 400 million dollars to fund palliatives to fifteen million Nigerians following the removal of fuel subsidy in June, 2023.



The right activist said it was a sign of backwardness and failed leadership for federal government to think of borrowing to fund palliatives to the poor Nigerians after claiming of saving over a trillion naira from the removal of subsidy.


He described it as a misplacement of priority and called on Nigerians, especially the youths to rise up to the challenge and take back their country in the interest of their future.


Doctor Eholor who stated this while granting in an interview with our correspondent in Benin City, noted that government lacks the right direction to channel it policies and programmes for the good of it citizens.


He questioned the rationale behind determining who is poor and how will they know the poor of the poorest in the country. 


According to doctor Eholor, "what are the indices to determine the poor, how are they going to get the data of the poorest, what are the rationale of them getting access to the money? ". He described the whole process as a sham and called on the federal government to stabilize the economy instead of pursuing shadows.


Doctor Eholor faulted president Bola Tinubu's appointment, describing him as tribalistic and tilted all the key positions to the yoruba nation as if Nigeria is made up of Yoruba tribe alone.


He urged Nigerians to be rise up and challenge the government instead of spending much time on social media which amount to nothing but waste of precious time.
