Engineer Osereme Christen Omofoma, has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria for defeating the co-host country, Australia Women in the second group B match at the on going 2023 edition of the FIFA Women World Cup.
The Edo Central Labour Party Senatorial Candidate in the last 2023 election, in his congratulatory message, said, that the Super Falcons manifested the true Nigerian spirit, however urged them not to relent, but bring out the best in them in order to book a place in the round of 16.
The Super Falcons won the Matildas of Australia 3-2 following a brilliant strike from Kanu at 45mins, to equalize a one goal down while Ohale at 65mins places the Super Falcons ahead and Assisat Oshoala who came from bench to record her name on the score sheet in the 72mins of play. Van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy scored 1st and 2nd goal for host country respectively.
After the brilliant performance the super falcons has top the group B with 4points followed by Canada. The Nigeria senior football team is expected to play The Girls in Green of Ireland in their last group match.
