Human Rights Activists and Founder of One Love Foundation, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as the Ultimate Equal, The Father Of Nigerian Students-FONS has called on Patriots, Politicians, Students, Captains of Industries as well as all Nigerians, to maintain unity in the Country, even as they go through the Festive seasons.
He made this known in a statement released earlier to Journalists today, where he asserted that this is a month to be Faithful all over the world. He said we must continue to respect people’s Faith, and must be tolerant as well.
Addressing both Christians and Muslims , Dr . Patrick urged them to be more like their founders and also promote Nation building.
In his words:
“ For the Christians, be like Christ. Christ was a Peacemaker and One who wanted Love and not war.
For the Muslims, Islam is not a religion of War but of Peace. Our Imams and General Overseers are people we expect to practice Love and Unity, irrespective of the different religions in this Country .
“We did not choose by ourselves to become Nigerians But God destined it so for us. I want to admonish Religious leaders to caution their followers to turn down their rhetorics, especially with the political uncertainty in the Country. We must join hands together to build this Country, because we have no other home apart from Nigeria. I want to wish the Christians a Happy Easter and to the Muslims, Barka de Sallah.”
While conveying his wishes, to Christians and Muslims respectively, Chief Eholor noted, that both the Easter and Barka de Sallah are meaningful celebrations to both Religion .
He also established the need to walk in love and engage in philanthropic acts as he advised Nigerians to Patriotic and shun tribal bigotry. According to him:
“Let us be our brother's Keeper, we should tackle poverty, let us donate more to food banks, let us give to the less privileged, let us do what the widow did when she gave her widows might. Let us continue to respect the rights of people and make them important, let’s stop dehumanizing people .
“Let’s recognize Nigeria first Before our tribal origin. The idea of being a tribal bigot in this 21st century should be discouraged, we are One. Let us not forget the sacrifices of those that died in the civil war for us to live, let us continue to live in peace and Unity.
“Let us discourage people from donating illegal money, to the Churches or to the Mosques, let us give more to Orphans and the Widows. Let us Practice what we preach”. He Concluded.
